Tried calling the USC football office this morning for Norton without any luck. Here's an article from the L.A. Daily News saying that he's not interested in the position, according to sources.....

Bummer ... I wonder what his reasons are for turning the position down.
That is disappointing. At least Walker is still in the mix.
His reason is probably that we have a pathetic fan base that will not support the team eventough there is nothing else to do in town and the tickets are dirt cheap.
Anon 1:06 whats your reason for posting? Why don't you add something to the conversation. Probably a loob.
Sad to hear about Norton, but he was a huge gamble anyways.
Anon 7:35,
I'm definitely not a Loob. I'm one of the biggest Aggie fans that you'll find. But like many, I am frustrated that attendance is so poor for both football and basketball. I graduated from NMSU, and can proudly say that i NEVER missed an Aggie BB home game, and only 2 football games when I lived in Las Cruces. I had the pleasure of seeing some great BB teams in the early to mid 90's and the Pan Am was always packed and rocking, no matter who we played. Now we get lousy attendance, and no support from the students body. I hope we get a young, charismatic football coach who can attract talent, fans, and reach out to the community. As Aggie fans, we all deserve this.
