Another verbal

I hear the Aggies received a verbal commitment from linebacker Anthony Joyner.

Here's Joyner's info on Rivals.com.

NMSU has now gotten verbals from two linebackers — Joyner and Dylan Davis. I would assume that if both players fulfill their commitments, they'll have an opportunity to compete for playing time immediately.

Not sure of the rule; but with Walker gone NMSU needs to let the men out of their commitments if they choose to do so.

So far they are only verbals so they can leave if they chose to. However if they are signed there is no way in he** they should let them go. No one else does so why should we? This is the best class we've had in a long time, maybe even best ever. They will still get an education and a chance to compete. The only reason to let them go is if another coach comes in and decides they don't fit his style of play/

This is good news. We've managed to land two verbals with all this speculation going around that Coach may very well be gone in a few days, maybe even hours now that Pete's deal is final. This leaves a glimmer of hope that DW just might stick around

Anon 1128. I am with you but I just think we can do things different from other schools. Maybe that's naive thinking on my part. I agree I am very excited about the class also. I just want players and coaches that want to be at NMSU, not some that couldn't get out of a signed letter. Maybe not the best example but it would feel to me like a bait and switch...

Yea this kid is top talent! I guess when Walker got recruiter of the year in the Pac-10 it was no fluke. Now we have to just hope he stays. This is by far the best class we've had in this town in a long time. I saw his highlights at Sandiegoballers.com and the kid will definitely get on the field soon.
