Holbrook's a warrior

Through all the tough times endured by the Aggie football team last season, Chase Holbrook was someone who remained relatively consistent.

Holbrook slipped statistically last year compared to the 2006 season, but he had a respectable campaign nonetheless. He had strong games against Nevada and Fresno State late in the year when the roster was hurt by injury. He torched Idaho and played banged up for some of the season as well.

Holbrook asked coach Hal Mumme this offseason if he could be more involved in drills and conditioning with the team during spring workouts. Last spring, the quarterback took it light along with much of the first-team offense. Not this year though. Is Holbrook a superstar quarterback or a product of the system? Hard to say right now. But he is a leader. And he can throw the ball with deft touch. He is what the Aggies need under center this year. A leader, who will play under most circumstances while taking some heat without complaint.

I've said it many a time. With a healthy offense, this team will score a ton. And Holbrook should have a nice year once again.

Chase is one of the best things to happen to Aggie football in a very long time.
He is a quality young man in every sense of the word.

This kid is a gamer and a quality human being.
David and Charli Holbrook have raised a fine young man!

Kids like Chase and CW don't come to NMSU very often.
It would be nice if they could take us bowling and they would be immortalized like the 1960 team!

Chase is a good representative for NMSU on and off field. Good role model scholastically as well as being a very humble young man. He has a great future wherever he goes.

I like the Chase will be more involved this spring. We had a lot of injuries, and will also have to break in some new faces on the O-line and the WR's, and RB. Hopefully we can keep him up right this fall, and he can lead this offense to a bowl game.

Great kid indeed!

You feel bad for great kids (Jimmy Cottrell, Denvis Manns, Nick Cleaver, Buck Pierce, etc.) that have come to NMSU and could not end the Bowl drought.
I really hope Chase, CW, AJ, and the gang don't fall into this dubious list.
I really hope the defense can hold up their end of the bargain and end this ridiculous drought this year.

This team, the university, the fans, and the community deserve better.
No one should have to go thru 47 years of sheer misery!!!

Holbrook is as tough a quarterback as I have ever seen play the college game. He has played hurt most of his two seasons here. He has gotten up from some very hard hits. He wants to win!

Holbrook and the rest of this years Sr's have a chance to leave a special mark at NMSU!! Mumme I think has been walking around with a sheepish grin because he knows he has a chance to shock, the school, state, and the WAC this year!!
