Theus mentioned as possible replacement to Calipari

This was at the bottom of a Memphis Commercial Appeal article. Reggie was actually the last name mentioned as a possible replacement for John Calipari.

On a side note, UTEP coach and former Memphis assistant Tony Barbee was mentioned as a possible replacement too.

Reggie seems like a long shot, but you never know. He is known to surprise, i.e., getting an NBA job straight from NMSU. Just thought this might generate a little chatter. Here's the link.

There are also MANY links and mentions in articles about Reggie for the U of A job ... as well as the Georgia job. Seems like a good fit for U of A ... the article in the Arizona Republic says their AD Jim Livingood has a mystery candidate and the talk about J.Capel is just a screen. I'll put my money on Theus and hope he gets it. He will do a great job.

Hate to kill your thought on the Theus to AZ idea, but Tim Floyd got the job already!!!!

Reggie to Memphis?
He's a heck of a recruiter and pretty good bench coach (better than Menzies & Barbee) and should be a good candidate.

I think Reggie is more of a west coast guy and will probably get the USC job now that Tim Floyd is at Arizona.
Who knows, I'm just a damn blogger!!

Theus is NOT that good of a bench coach. More presence on the sideline, sure. But not an XandO guy.

Okay???? How about defending your statement?

Theus inherited a six win game and willed his 1st year team to 16 wins. I'm not even going to get into year.
You don't get that type of success by just being a pretty face or "a precense on the sidelines."

He inherited a 6 win team with a load of transfers waiting to play the next season.

So did Menzies and did they go to the NCAA tourney? Reggie is the best coach the Ag's had since the great Lou Henson. Reggie would have had the current Aggie team in the tourney along with last years team.
