La. Tech player dismissed

Don't know if you saw this. Or if you care.

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech head coach Kerry Rupp announced Wednesday that
senior Keith Smith has been dismissed from the team due to a violation of
team rules. Rupp added that Smith will remain on scholarship as he is on track to
graduate in May. Smith, a senior from Oklahoma City, is third on the team in scoring at 8.1
points per game and averages 4.7 rebounds.

This, and Bryan Harvey's eligibility at Fresno shows that NMSU isn't the only school with off the court and classroom issues.

I hope Pope gets a lot of playing time tomorrow night. Atleast 30 minutes.

These student/ athletes need to remember that in order to be an athlete, you need to be a good student first!

Pope get's his first double, double tomorrow!

I've been waiting for this day for a few months now.
Herb Pope debuts today!

Also, will the students make there season debut?
Will the students debut a new chant today?

Not sure about the students but, Herb Pope will show up big today!

"Oh happy day..."

Herb Pope is the real deal!
The kid can shoot from the outside, dribble, rebound, block shots, pass, defend run the floor!

The bad thing? He's a bit rusty but, practice and playing time will take the rust off.

The students showed up but weren't really a factor. Way too quiet!

The guards need to take better care of the ball (23 turnovers). Cole did a good job of finding people in the lane but, got caught "hot doggin" at mid court, towards the end of the game.

Nevada and the UtAgs come to town. Better play better and the fans must show up and make some noise!

Almost a week and no new topics?
You would think that Teddy would have done a small write up like: "So what do you think of Herb Pope's Aggie debut."

Thanks for keeping the sports talk alive and well!

I see Carter is ineligible and is keeping his scholarship.
What kind of message is Menzies trying to send?!
Reggie would remove scholarships from academic casualties!

Take Carter's scholarship and give it to Cole or someone else who is busting there butts and paying their way!!

In a previous press conference, Menzies said Paris Carter would retain his scholarship and his status would be re-evaluated after the season. Its just my opinion, but I think the coaches will re-evaluate the entire roster after the season and I think that would include Cole. Just my take.

I think it is a rule that he has to keep it until the season is over. If he is ineligible after the semester is over then he will lose it.

It is amazing to me all of the people who want to bad mouth Menzies. All of the players with problems were Reggies recruits and look what we lost from last year, a point guard that is much better than anything we have now, Cole is so slow he would have problems in a rec league, and Luster pouts every time he gets pulled from the games. We also lost Nelson who was all league 2 years ago and our best outside shooter in Ted Knauber and David Fisher who played decent and Shoun Davis who was a better defensive guard than anybody we have now.
This coach will build a program, he is a proven recruiter and I bet the players he recruits won't require the time and effort that Reggies recruits required. nI just wonder how much we had to pay the law firm in Kansas City to get Pope eligible?

Menzies is a proven recruiter? Really, who has he recruited that has proven him?

Who has he recruited? And I won't count the fact he had to recruit all of Reggie's guys all over again...McKines (3-Star), Gillenwater (4-star), Chris Gabriel (6'10 2-star, but from all accounts is a diamond in the rough), and 7'0 Hamidu Rahman (3-Star). This is just coming off the top of my head, and I could be missing another recruit or two.

Not only that, but his former boss Rick Pitino said, he is one of the best recruiters in the country.

Need anymore proof?

Who has he recruited(Menzies) are you kidding. Obviously you don't keep up with Aggie recruiting. He had to recruit all of Reggies recruits plus he has 5 players for next year. I bet his recruits don't give him all the problems Reggies did
