People are saying good things about Savage and that is a good thing for the Aggies.
NMSU needs a pass rushing lineman. They didn't have one last year. Again, the 3-4 defense limits what lineman can do and most of the sacks end up going to the linebackers anyway. NMSU ran a 3-4 last season.
Joe Lee Dunn's scheme has three lineman in the picture once again. But it seems to be much different in dynamic than the typical 3-4 alignment. Last year, the team's ends were Rhyan Anderson, McKinney and Jarrod Naylor. Not much of a rush there. We'll see what Savage is all about early on. I'm sure the team will look to get him on the field right off the bat to see what he's all about. Prep school numbers? Fifteen sacks last year. At 230 pounds, he has to put on some weight to play at the D-1 level. Still, it could be a valuable pickup.

Where are you getting the 230 number? Both major recruiting sites have him listed at 6'3 255lbs.
My fault....He'll still need to get a little bigger....
This is good news!
Chuck Taylor came from this prep school and started last year!
If he's 230 or 255Lbs. He better be FAST and get to the QB in a hurry!
I think this aggresive defense will get us a couple more wins and could be the difference in playing at Albuquerque in late December!
Go Aggies!
Vic
Gotta get to the QB. They didn't last year. We'll see if things change in 2008...
Oh WOW! Our goal for the football team is to play in Albuquerque late December? Come on now. The New Mexico Bowl is the goal? We're spending all this money just to get to that bowl game? I know, I know, we have to start some where. But, we need to be playing in a bowl game not called the New Mexico Bowl.
I'll take the NM Bowl. Better than nothing, and nothing is all we've had for the past 40 years.
Good idea, lets change the name to the Zia Bowl. That way people will not know that New Mexico created the bowl for UNM and NMSU to play in.
