Dunbar update

Tom Dienhartof of Yahoo! Sports tweeted that Breant Pease has accepted a job offer to be Indiana's offensive coordinator.

This is significant for the Aggies why? Because NMSU coordinator Mike Dunbar's name was mentioned in the job search as a possibility to join Kevin Wilson's staff at Indiana. Could he still go? Maybe. But the likelihood seems to have diminished now.

Does it really matter? The Aggies will only win 2 or 3 games next year, as always. Coach Walker has the "resources" excuse and everyone in Las Cruces is buying it, so he's got an easy paycheck for another 5 or 6 seasons.

Give CDW a break, he doesnt have SE Louisiana, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Nicholls State, or Alcorn State, on his schedule, like the previous regime. If we only get 3 wins, at least they are 3 quality wins. They might be ugly wins, but at least they are against Div. 1 (or whatever they call it now) teams.

I respect your opinion Anon 5:26PM, but I still think he's using excuses. I am a realistic person and I don't expect Walker to turn NM State into another Boise, Nevada or even Fresno State but they should be winning more games by now. He's not improving the program in anyway. The biggest mistake was getting rid of Tony Samuel.

Anon 9:57....I liked Samuel just as much as the next guy, but he was playing in a watered down Sun Belt Conference. If you wanna go back that far the biggest mistake might have been in hiring Samuel. If you recall they chose Samuel over Houston Nutt. Nutt ended up at Boise and we all know how that turned out......

I know all about Houston Nutt and I was hoping NM State would hire him but I thought Samuel was decent and he would have done well with the Aggies in the WAC..it's not fair to assume things when he didn't get the chance to coach in the WAC. He did well with the Aggies, regardless of how weak the Sunbelt was.
