Reason for Archibald delay

It is to my understanding that Damon Archibald will be hired by Sacramento once Reggie Theus finishes rounding out his coaching staff.

Theus has already brought in Kenny Natt. The former Aggie coach is also expected to hire Chuck Person as a bench coach and has not decided yet on his third assistant. Kings General Manager Geoff Petrie apparently told Theus that he can not bring in Archibald until he rounds out his staff.

That has been the reason for the delay. Once Theus squares things away with his bench, expect Arch to be on his way to Sac.

I appreciate Archibald but, if he's going. He needs to do it sooner, rather than later.

That way everyone can turn the page and go forward.

I agree that this Archibald process has been drawn out to no end, but it really isn’t his fault. That’s the point, Sacramento needs to fill out other positions before Theus can bring him on. And it’s not like Menzies doesn’t have a contingency plan in place. He knows what’s going on and has been working to fill in the blanks.

Word on the street is we have retained a 500 win asst. coach. Any idea who that may be?

McMullen of Santa Monica, according to jtnmsu on the Aggie board. If so, looks like a beyond great hire.

It does appear that McMullen is the guy to fill the vacancy. He has a long history with Menzies and seems like he will be moved in.

From my understanding, another assistant is going to be brought on board as well. He will replace coach Hauser who will be moved into a basketball operations roll. I called Hauser regarding the matter and he had no idea what I was talking about but I believe that is how things will play out…We’ll see. If so, that means that the two new coaches along with Pompey will be on the bench next to Menzies.

why are they moving out Hauser? That guy has potential. Seems kinda unfair.

the move of hausser seems unfair as the previous poster stated. from what i hear, he has the potential to become hc one day. what gives? PS great article by jason on the BIG's Menzies is recruting. i can't wait for the upcoming football and basketball season!!! A-N-T-I-C-I-P-A-T-I-O-N!!!

I honestly thought, Hauser had a lot of up-side to him.
New coach, new philosophy. Hope it works out for everyone!
