Manley the starter following spring practices

Following spring practice New Mexico State Aggie head football coach DeWayne Walker said the starting quarterback job would be Andrew Manley’s to lose going into fall camp.

It was widely considered that it was Manley’s job to lose anyway. He will now get the chance to be the clear-cut No. 1 guy and see if he can run with it.

Not exactly an awe inspiring endorsement of Manley do you think? "It is his to lose." sounds to me like there is a bit of desire for a more dominating performance.

It is good to have at least a tentative decision going into the summer. It will be interesting to see whether, and how much, the Aggies have improved. I have some hope that Martin's offense will be enough of a jump start to help on both sides of the ball.

It is obvious that Walker is setting up for the "new" WAC in 2012. Manley will be around when the new teams join the conference and lets face it, if Walker can't win against lesser conference competition and an experienced QB in 2012 say Adios.

I think itd be interesting if you could give us a look at each positions tenative depth chart or just starting 11 on each side of the ball going into fall practice? Or as of now who will be starting where?
