My first post

Sorry it took so long but I'm here and ready to roll. I would like to discuss Theus, more specifically, the disgraceful hire of Sam Vincent by the Bobcats. Why would they hire this man? I don't know if Theus is the right fit for the job but it's safe to argue that he's more qualified than Vincent. Many of the candidates were. This is another miserable move by Jordan, who has Bernie Bickerstaff all wrapped up. Charlotte has improved every year since its been in the league. Vincent will have a tall order ahead of him to continue the climb.

As for Theus, is he NBA quality? Hard to say, but I believe he could relate to players on the pro level, no problem. X's and O's could be another issue as that's the bread and butter of pro hoops. Is he really a strategic genius? As for motivation and getting guys to play hard, I think he will be a good fit. And frankly, we'll probably find out sooner rather than later. He has goals and it looks like whatever Reggie has put his head too, he's gotten it done.

I don't think Jordan knew what he was passing up when he didn't go after Theus, but it's our gain here in Las Cruces. I'm crossing my fingers hoping for at least one more year of Reggie Nation, this past season was the most exciting for Aggies fans in a long time.

I'm more worried about the Kings and the Maloofs than any other team in the NBA.

If the Kings pass on Reggie, I also think bigger NCAA teams will pass on him.
The big schools know the attention he is getting from the NBA and can't afford to have him for a year or two and then go to the pros. There's too much $$ involved!

First of all, excellent idea to prohibit "anon" blogs. They typically are juvenile and add no value to the topic at hand.

As for this topic, I heard a couple days ago that Rambis and Van Gundy have the inside track on the Kings HC job. Sure hope the article is accurate!! I'd like to keep Reggie around another 1-2 years to get the program firmly back on the right track. Once that is in place, we should be able to attract a quality group of replacements for when Reggie leaves.

Agree with Vic that Reggie's well known dream job to be an NBA coach should keep most of the big schools away. And while I've no doubt the NBA will indeed come calling one day, I'm not convinced he will be successful. Reggie certainly appears to have a strong work ethic, but he also has an ego that will likely clash with the egomaniac, rich NBA "punks" out there.
