Joseph Matthews

The Aggies received a commitment from wide receiver/safety Joseph Matthews, from Rincon High School in Tucson.

Matthers is listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. He was a second-team all-region player as a defensive back in 2009 but the Aggies are recruiting him as a wide receiver, according to Scout.com.

Rivals.com had Matthews also being looked at by Arizona, Arizona State and Northern Arizona.

He's part of the 2011 signing class.

What I would like ot see is Matt Ramondo choose the aggies. It's great that he hqw offers from Arizona and Michigan State, as well as interest from a number of other big programs. If he chooses to stay in Cruces and play at NMSU, it's a win-win situation. He has the tools to become a star player, and he can really help recruiting. Other playwer will not be blind to the fact that he chose to stay, even though he ehad other good options. That is the kind of thing that really helps to turn a program around.

So, Matt, make a splash. Become a big part of the turnaround.

All the new freshman are in town. Where is an update on those guys? I'd like to hear about the freshman QB and the OL that are coming in that we do drastically need at NMSU. I think Walker will bring this team around but in order to get people in the stands we need to get excited about them. they have a really tough opening to the season so its gonna be rough. any updates ?

Im interested in the Reciever and Linebacker Positions. It seems we have no depth in either position. LInebackers look ok in spring game but seems like they have no backups. Is anthony Joyner here and how does he look? what about Taveon burke, is he the burner we needed? is he here? any updates would be appreciated. Also i cant wait to see kenny turner, great story if he pans out.

I think it's great local people support Ramondo, but he's in a whole different league. I don't think he would be reaching his full potential by going to NM State. Ramondo belongs with the big boys like Michigan State.

I just paid the balance on my season tickets, I had asked the person helping me if they knew how sales were going. Unfortunately I think it was just one of the students because she didn't have any information. Teddy can you help us out? How are season ticket sales going? Unfortunately I don't think the bobblehead madness that has swept the nation has hit Las Cruces. But I hope numbers are at least stable, and compare to where we were last year.

The whole teams on campus, whats the deal????

Teddy, where are you? It's been 20 days since you last post. Give us some info on Jaramillo, the West Mesa QB who committed to State.

Teddy how about an interview with the two newest aggies form ABQ Kennedy and Jarmillo?

Any chance NMSU is in the running to bring in Jeremiah Masoli? He can play this year, and La. Tech and Hawaii are both rumored to be in the running to land him. I think if there is a way to bring him to Las Cruces we need to go after him, even if it's only for a year, his talent is higher than what we have and it gives our guys a year to learn the system.

WTF Teddy?! NMSU didn't have one person who covers them at Media Day. That's crap..
