Did he commit? KVIA said on the 6/26 10:00 broadcast that he said he was staying in LC.

That report isn't true.

Betancourt will be visiting with NMSU on Monday. He's still waiting on an offer from UTEP and possibly from Army and Holy Cross before he makes his decision.

NMSU seems to have an inside track. The Aggies were the first school to get an offer on the table and will give him a shot to play running back. The Aggie coaching staff has been working the local kids hard and New Mexico in general. I know they've shown a lot of interest in Brandon.

I think it would be a feather in Brandon's cap to be NMSU's first commitment for the 2011 recruiting class.

I've been reading the posts on the blog. He will get his chance to play at NMSU and he'll have a better chance than at most FBS schools.

Thanks for the clarification teddy. DW is doing a great job recognizing local talent. I hope BB stays and plays for the Aggs.

He's better off going somewhere else. Look what happen to James Hall. Recruited as a running back, but switched to a Receiver. Walker is just trying to look good and keep a local kid here. Brandon is a good running back and should be able to play his position here or anywhere else. He would fit in great at UTEP. Good luck to him on his decision.

This new staff is great! It's always nice to see local products get offers from the Aggies. Good job NMSU!

Man with comments like anon 10:53 it's no wonder we have a poor fan base. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

to anon at 10:53, most the kids here playing positions like qb and rb are good at there position in high school, but they are mostly athletes that can play many positions.

When do all the new high school kids and transfers get here? Any news on that and when practice starts? Any info on these players and NMSU summer football schedule would be appreciated. GO AGGIES!

Well, with the way many local kids get the shaft at NM State, I tend to agree with Anon 10:53. A school like UTEP or Holy Cross would appreciate Brandon better. James Hall should have been playing as a freshman...he's way more talented than some of the running backs ahead of him. I didn't know he was switched to receiver, that sucks.

There's a poor fan base at NM State because you guys are so damn vicious with each other. When those few hateful fans that tell everyone off go away, then maybe more people will support NM State and there will be a more positive attitude.

I live in Texas and UT and A&M fans don't go at their own kind like you guys do.

Welcome to NM State. It's been like this for the last 20 yrs. If they wouldn't have gotten rid of Samuel's, we would of been winners. Enough said!!
