Trevor Walls to tight end?

Quarterback Trevor Walls will most likely play tight end during the 2010 football season.

From what I hear, Walls actually approached the coaching staff about a change of positions. It seemed unlikely that Walls would see snaps at QB this year after getting limited action there during spring practices.

Can Walls play at tight end? He's a big body, listed at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds on the NMSU Web site. Also, quarterbacks have been known to make a move to receiver and pull it off, as they already have an innate knowledge of the passing game.

We'll see if it comes to fruition.

Teddy,

As I said earlier, I think this could be beneficial in the long run. Put him on a new weight regimen and I think he can help this team. I think that this says a lot about Trevor's character--always a team player first. First and Goal from the five, throw it up and he will go get it.

You see Teddy, some of us Ohioans can provide some news-worthy information.

Gotta' respect the guy for wanting to play.

Good for him!

This is great news if it's true. The kid is a gamer and just wants to help the team.

Big target, great vertical, great hands, sounds like a winner!

Kyle Nelson is a non-blocking, non-catching TE so, yes, it's a good switch for us Aggie fans who are tired of watching "Butterfingers" Nelson!!

Trevor is all about the team.

If I remember correct. I remember reading a post on aggie alert from Frank saying we should move Walls to TE. I also remember how everyone was calling him stupid for saying it. Who is stupid now????

JUST ONE HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS IDEA. WALLS CANT RUN!!!

@ Anon 12:24: Walls can run dude. Walls runs a 4.8 40 which is good enough to be a TE. He is also young and could also work on his speed but he is perfect for the TE position.

Might be a good move. We need a receiver who will run routs like he is supposed to andnot just go through the motions, which is all they did at the spring game. The kid has a big heart and is a team first guy. good for him.

Class move by a class act. He didn't whine or pout about playing time. He could have transferred out and tried to play qb somewhere else. I wish more kids had his selfless attitude!
