I also find it very disturbing that the AD, Boston, is all in the news with his quotes on this. Where is the Head Coach in all this mess? Why don't we hear from coach Menzies on this matter? I'll tell you why. Coach really doesn't want Pope here. He's tired of his act and we all should be too. Boston is worried because the Pope name brought some exposure, be it negative, but exposure. Boston is also scared of the APR numbers.

I suggest we take Pope to the airport and drop him off. I remember when he signed and there were stories done about him in the paper he said that he chose to come here because it was far away. Far away from all of the trouble that was in his home and he would be able to escape that here. Now, the biggest reasons for him leaving are to go back to his family. I think that if you really want to help your family you stay and endure what you committed yourself to. By staying here you avoid putting yourself in a situation where you might get shot again and place less stress on those who care about you. You can focus on achieving your dream of being in the NBA without worrying about the streets or anything like that. But we cant make that decision for him and if he eventually transfers then oh well. It just keeps showing that skills on the court dont always reflect skills off the court.

As far as Wen is concerned, Im glad he came back. I saw him last night buying groceries with a girl who appeared to be holding his baby girl so its good to see he is not leaving her behind. The Pope situation does not look good considering the "no comments" by his aunt and Seton Hall. This situation is probably more advanced than we know. It's is wrong for Dr. Boston to compare this to the Mckines situation, and assume Pope will also be back. It was a fluke that Mckines returned. I think these players get discouraged by poor attendence and lack of community support. If this team stays together until the 2009-2010, it could be one of the most talented Las Cruces has ever seen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5835899929137685677.post-5942788403270558522008-08-27T18:02:00.000-07:002008-08-27T18:02:00.000-07:00Obviously I want him in an Aggie uni.
