You are right, Mumme is a absolute genius at deligating coaching responsibilities. By the way who is the special teams coach? Probably one of the freshman kickers will do that right? As a receiver, he was, of course, FAST and full of confidence. Now that his confidence isn't at its highest, I'm sure he'll make the most of his opportunity to make plays at safety. He's strong, fast and has good hands ... You really do have to give him props. He's a standup student-athlete and I'm confident he will be battling Biamonte for the starting safety spot. It's hard not to root for somebody like Buckner.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5835899929137685677.post-68734741725368258752008-08-12T14:06:00.000-07:002008-08-12T14:06:00.000-07:00Chris Buckner is not average DB. He has the talent...Chris Buckner is not average DB. He has the talent to make a good DB. He has the size, and the speed to do it. Hal Mumme has done a great job recruiting players to NMSU. NMSU have so much talent that every year we always have 2 or 3 players move to the other side of the ball. Here is a list of recent players.

Tony Glynn moved from DB to RB. Chris Nwoko moved from RB to LB. LaAuli Fonoti moved from TE to LB. Polo, and Bolin both from from the DL to the OL. Baiamonte moved from WR to DB. Nick Cleaver is gone now, but he went from being a DB to a TE. Moss moved from FB to NT. I can keep going and going.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5835899929137685677.post-12514166758674953832008-08-12T12:33:00.000-07:002008-08-12T12:33:00.000-07:00(Question) say you have a good quality receiver an...(Question) say you have a good quality receiver and a average defensive back, which player should NMSU take?

I feel that NMSU should take the better athlete regardless of position.
